Guys. It’s gonna be HELLA hot in London this week. It’s going to be so hot the Daily Mail will publish headlines like “UK Hotter than THE SAHARA desert this week!!” accompanied by pictures of babes in bikinis lounging on the pebbles of Brighton Beach. Yes, that hot…
So, I have helpfully put together a style guide on how to look cool and stay cool when the weather outside is punishingly hot. Some people favour shorts or culottes when it is that warm because skirts/dresses are very conducive to the dreaded chub rub, but a little talcum powder can solve that straight up, and a dress will keep you feeling cooler.
In the heat, I like to keep it simple. And by simple I obviously mean I like to pretend I’m on the Riviera instead of the Underground, so I wear blue, white and sunglasses. And you should too, because the Riviera will always beat the Underground. This embroidered dress from Madewell, paired with your favourite espadrilles simply scream Santorini. Incidentally, espadrilles are the hit of the summer, and I must say I heartily approve; I have an excellent pair by Miista which I love and wear almost every day. They are comfortable and stylish- the dream.
It can be difficult to feel cool and look professional at the office, so keep it basic. I am keen on gold accessories this week. If you can’t afford the Cartier bangle I suggested (d’oh), do invest in some fools gold pieces- I promise you will wear them to death this summer.
The final ESSENTIAL accessory I did not include in my handy guide is WATER. When it’s that hot, and London is this busy, staying hydrated is key. Stick a bottle of water in your basket bag and STAY HEALTHY!
